DSC_7609Izula is a Robertson and Caine Leopard 45 Catamaran. Built in 2000 in South Africa for the Moorings Charter fleet, she spend her first few years in the cruising Belize. Since acquiring the boat we’ve customized her extensively to fit our cruising needs.

The original layout includes 4 queen size ensuite cabins. With no need for four heads we have converted one to a workshop and the other to storage. One of the queen size berths has also been cut to a large single to provide room for tools and storage.

Unfortunately we couldn’t get it to fit on the old landcruiser’s roof racks. 😉

The Leopard 45 has a reputation for being tough — overbuilt with a heavy glass layup. These boats are also considered to be very seaworthy and as with all the older Leopards were sailed on their own bottoms from South Africa.
